Formula1 has united in paying tribute to Ayrton Senna on the 20th anniversary of the three-times World Champions passing, the most famous driver of his age and revered by many as the greatest Formula1 has ever seen, was killed at the age of 34 when he crashed out of the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix at Imola.
It’s been 20 years since the last driver death in Formula 1. We know this because it was the tragedy of Ayrton Senna’s crash at the San Marino Grand Prix that served as a wake up call for the sport. So much has been said of Senna over the years that it is hard to add any praise or focus on his life that hasn’t already been voiced or implied.
Sky Sports F1 is paying its own tribute to Ayrton Senna with a week of programmes marking the 20th anniversary of the legendary Brazilian’s death.
