Experience a once in a lifetime chance to immerse yourself in the memory of legendary Formula One driver, Ayrton Senna, when one of his championship winning cars, the McLaren MP4/4, will go on display at Top Gear Festival Sydney 2014 as part of a special tribute.
Thirty years since Senna’s F1 debut, and twenty years since his tragic passing, the Ayrton Senna Tribute presented by Destination NSW features a unique static display of his championship winning McLaren MP4/4 along with a dedicated pictorial display.
The MP4/4 hasn’t been seen in Australia since the 1988 Adelaide GP; a race that saw McLaren secure first and second place in the Australian Grand Prix, and the final race of that season.
There’ll also be a special on track tribute to Senna led by fellow racing personalities and James May.
Widely regarded as the best driver of the modern era, Senna was recognised for his unmatched qualifying speed over one lap, and from 1989 until 2006, held the record for most pole positions. To this day, Senna holds a record of six victories at the prestigious Monaco Grand Prix, and is the third most successful driver of all time in terms of overall race wins
