Ayrton Senna fans all over the world now have a new channel about the three-time F1 world champion.
Senna TV. Featuring exclusive content produced by the Ayrton Senna Intitute, it will have a weekly schedule, with new videos going up every Thurdsday, bringing interviews, news stories and trivia about the Brazilian driver’s career. The official launch takes place on Sunday, May 1, and you can subscribe to the channel at SennaTV.
The official channel for Ayrton Senna videos on the Internet will be on YouTube. It’s promotion will take place on the driver’s social media profiles (the Facebook page alone has 6 million fans), managed by the Ayrton Senna Institute which has been working for more than 20 years towards the goal of improving public education in Brazil. Each year, it benefits 1.8 million students and trains 65 thousand educators in around 700 cities in 19 states of all regions in Brazil.
“We have conceived this project a while ago as a big gift from the Ayrton Senna Institute to all the fans. It’s Ayrton Senna’s official channel on the Internet. So, we want to offer exclusive video content and interesting stories told by people who knew him or draw inspiration from him”
– Bianca Senna
The Senna TV studio features an item that is sure to be one of the channel’s highlights: the 1990 MP4/5B McLaren with which Senna won the Italian GP in the year he became a two-time world champion.
Senna TV will be hosted by journalist Rodrigo França, who has been covering motor sports for two decades for media outlets such as Jornal da Tarde, Folha de S. Paulo, Quatro Rodas, VIP and Radio Globo.
With a master’s degree in journalism from the University of São Paulo (as well as published book, “Ayrton Senna e a Mídia Esportiva [Ayrton Senna and Sports Media]”), França has been with the Institute for three years, working as content editor for the Ayrton Senna official website and social networks. The channel’s shows are produced and directed by Jonatas Fróes and shot and edited by Maíra Villamarin, both from the Ayrton Senna Institute’s communications and marketing team.
The channel’s debut will feature two videos. The first one is an interview with women’s basketball champion Magic Paula, who will talk about how Senna inspired the generation that won the 1994 World Championship. Then, young driver Giuliano Raucci, who is only 17, is going to talk about how the three-time world champion inspires his own journey in motor sports – he even has an Ayrton Senna quote tattooed on his arm. New videos go up weekly, always on Thursdays.
