The mayor of Maceió, Rui Soares Palmeira, and the municipal secretary of Education, Ana Dayse Dorea, signed on Monday (29), in São Paulo, the renewal of the term of technical cooperation between the Ayrton Senna Institute and the City Hall of Maceió. The event was attended by Viviane Senna in the name of Ayrton Senna Institute.
The Connect and Accelerate Programs have been running on the Municipal Network for three years and are aimed at correcting age / grade distortion by reducing school failure and dropout. Ana Dayse explains that the programs support the Municipality with the proposal of literacy and improve the performance of students who are older for the series studied.
“Correcting means that investing in child or teenager, they return to attend the series at the normal age for the series scheduled for age. The Network has achieved this with the support of the Ayrton Senna Institute, which has been an excellent partner, “said Ana Dayse.
According to the secretary, the good results of the Basic Education Development Index (Ideb) further reinforce the bonds with the partners. “We have been able to improve our indicators and partnerships have been key. We will be with the entire board of the Aryton Senna Institute to sign the new term of cooperation for another year here in Maceió “, he stressed

The purpose of the programs is to focus on non-literate students in the age-grade gap situation enrolled from grade 3 to grade 5. The League aims to promote the full literacy of these students in an integrated way to their development. Already the Accelerate allows the student to catch up and move on.
